Terrorism

Our department works closely with other federal agencies and law enforcement partners to gather intelligence, investigate potential threats, and take action to prevent attacks. We monitor the activities of known terrorist organizations, identify individuals who may be involved in planning or carrying out attacks, and work to disrupt their operations and networks. In addition to investigating potential terrorist threats, the NECD also plays a critical role in responding to attacks when they occur. We work with other agencies to provide support and resources to affected communities, and we collaborate on efforts to identify and bring to justice those responsible for such acts.

Cyber Crime

Another major area of concern for the NECD is cyber crime. With the increasing prevalence of technology in our lives, criminal activity has moved online, and our department is tasked with investigating and preventing a range of cyber crimes, from identity theft and financial fraud to hacking and cyber espionage.

Our team of experts uses cutting-edge technology and forensic techniques to investigate cyber crimes, identify those responsible, and bring them to justice. We work with other agencies and organizations to share information and resources and stay ahead of the constantly evolving threats in the cyber landscape.

Civil Rights

The NECD is also responsible for protecting civil rights and ensuring that all citizens are treated fairly and equally under the law. We investigate hate crimes, police misconduct, and other civil rights violations, and work to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

Our department also works to prevent discrimination and promote equality, collaborating with community organizations and other partners to address issues such as housing discrimination, employment discrimination, and equal access to public accommodations.

Counterintelligence

The NECD also plays a key role in counterintelligence efforts, working to protect the United States against foreign intelligence threats. We investigate individuals and organizations who seek to obtain or share sensitive information, and work to identify and neutralize foreign intelligence networks.

Our department collaborates closely with other agencies, including the FBI, CIA, and Department of Homeland Security, to gather intelligence and take action to prevent foreign agents from accessing critical information or influencing U.S. policy. We work to protect government facilities, secure classified information, and prevent espionage activities.

Public Corruption

Another key area of focus for the NECD is public corruption. We investigate cases of bribery, embezzlement, and other forms of corruption involving public officials, and work to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

Our department works to promote transparency and accountability in government, and to prevent the abuse of power and influence for personal gain. We collaborate with other agencies and organizations to investigate cases of corruption and bring those responsible to justice.

Weapons of Mass Destruction

The NECD is also responsible for investigating and preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), such as nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. We work to identify individuals or groups who may be seeking to acquire or use these types of weapons, and take action to prevent them from doing so.

Our department works closely with other agencies and international partners to gather intelligence, monitor potential threats, and take action to prevent the use of WMDs. We also collaborate on efforts to secure sensitive materials and prevent their misuse.

Organized crime

Organized crime is another major area of focus for the NECD. We investigate and disrupt criminal organizations involved in a range of activities, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering, and racketeering. Our department works to dismantle criminal networks and prosecute those responsible for their actions, while also collaborating with other agencies and organizations to prevent the spread of organized crime and disrupt criminal activities.

Violent Crime

The NECD is also dedicated to preventing and investigating violent crime, including homicide, assault, and robbery. We work closely with other law enforcement agencies and community partners to identify and address the root causes of violence, while also taking aggressive action to bring violent offenders to justice.

Our department uses a range of tools and techniques to investigate violent crimes, including forensic analysis, witness interviews, and surveillance. We work tirelessly to ensure that those responsible for violent crimes are held accountable for their actions and that justice is served for victims and their families.

White Collar Crime

Finally, the NECD investigates and prevents white collar crime, which includes a range of non-violent criminal activities such as fraud, insider trading, and embezzlement. Our department works to identify and prosecute those who engage in these types of crimes, which can have devastating effects on individuals, organizations, and the economy as a whole.

We use a variety of techniques to investigate white collar crime, including financial analysis, interviews, and forensic accounting. We also work to raise public awareness about the dangers of white collar crime and provide resources for individuals and organizations to protect themselves from these types of crimes.
